Growing Together

With Emily being my first, I feel like I am blindly groping my way through the dark room of parenthood.  Her twos kicked my trash and now her threes are taking me on a Merry-Go-Round ride of emotions.  She picks up on everything I talk with Ben about and is starting to understand and fully express the various emotions of this human state.

Her wit is dizzying.

But rather than spinning out of control, I find us on the same ride: sometimes speeding up and sometimes slowing down.  The Universe is in control and the good we send into space returns, twenty-fold, keeping our ride bumpy, but safe.

I'm not always sure what to expect, but I feel confident that she and I will enjoy this ride and learn as we grow together.

This is part of Galit and Alison's, Memories Captured Linky.

  1. I love this, as this is a glimpse into my future with my toddler who's now deep in the twos (that's already kicking me in the butt!).

  3. We just entered the twos ourselves and it's definitely a whirlwind, yet I'm already hearing that the threes are even wilder.

Meh... I always did like roller coasters. ;)

    Greetings from Memories Captured!

  5. I remember my first's roaming through that unusual territory, somehow little and yet so full of emotions and so swept up by them. A wonderful challenge, and a terrific joy.
Our first borns teach us daily, don't they?

  10. I believe 3 is as hard as 2 which was as hard as 1 and so on. I guess that's how a first always is, right? My littlest is two now and, yup. he kicks my butt everyday--literally and figuratively. : )

  16. I never seem to be ready for all these changes with my oldest - I'm hoping it's helping make me more prepared for the other two though. Yours is beautiful!

  18. Heck yeah. It is quite a ride. I agree that 3 is as intense as 2. My daughter started school in September (at 3.9 years old) and I have seen a tremendous leap in maturity. It is much easier between us now. She's still a firecracker...would never want that to change. But she can sit, focus on a task, and doesn't constantly ask for TV. Huge difference.
