My Heart Is Full of Gratitude

My heart is full of gratitude today.  I tried and tried to write something poetic or philosophical but my mind kept returning to what I am thankful for.

I am thankful for a husband that respects and listens to my opinion.

I am thankful for a two healthy, beautiful children.

I am thankful for the ladies in my congregation.

I am thankful for the virtual friends I have made.

I am thankful that my adoption article was featured in Mormon Times.

I am thankful for the award that Charlotte passed on to me.

I am thankful and honored that a post of mine was recognized as a Just Post.

I am thankful that I can cook delicious meals for my family.

I am thankful for a warm apartment.

I am thankful that the weather has warmed up so that I can take my babies on walks.

I am thankful for my health.

I am thankful for wireless internet.

I am thankful that I have somewhere to write--and people to read--my thoughts.

I am thankful that because tomorrow is a holiday I get to spend all day with Mr. B.

Most of all, I am thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows me and leads me down the right path.

Do tell, what are you thankful for?

  1. Congrats on your article in Mormon Times! I am over to read it right now.

  2. Amber, it's good to be overflowing with gratitude! I am too. About 10 days ago, however, I was falling into a depression and I got lifted out of it by my loving husband, and by sheer, miraculous faith.

So I am grateful for a husband who somehow loves me (I haven't been easy to love) and who now, 17 years later, can say that he's lucky he found me.

Congratulations on the award and on your post appearing in the Mormon Times!

  3. I'm grateful I got to meet you and your precious little ones. :)

  4. This is fantastic, Amber!

  5. I am thankful for your words and for this timely and important reminder to count my blessings each and every day.

  6. I am thankful for so much Amber.

A second chance to do the right thing with my life.

    My family.

A wonderful niece who truly inspires me with her thoughtful posts and outlook on life.

    I love you Amber!

  7. Ah the beauty of a thankful heart!

  8. Congrats on the article! I'm proud of you!

I am thankful for this holiday, so ASR can watch the girls while I run out for milk. I hate dragging them out of the house for some piddly errand!

  9. Wow! Look at you miss famous writer! That's so awesome! Congrats!
I am thankful for chocolate and disposable diapers. Both of them keep me sane.

  10. Hey I think you forgot your amazingly wonderful family In the great State of Idaho!

  11. Yes, congrats! That's wonderful!

(I'm grateful for my bed. And the color red. There's much more to be said. But I'll stop instead!)

  12. This is a beautiful post. To have these wonderful things is one thing but to recognize your blessings ia another. You are a wonderful person.

  13. That is a great list! Feeling gratitude is pure euphoria! Thanks for sharing that, you do have much to be thankful for! XO

  14. That is a lot of things to be thankful for. Sometimes we just need to stop and count or blessings!

  15. Me, too! It was nice to chatting with you!

  16. Oh, geez! You are making me blush!!

  17. I am so sorry to hear about that depression!! I know what you mean! I am so glad that you have a wonderful husband who helps you pull through.

  18. I think any trip to the store without children is indeed a blessing.

  19. I am so glad that you commented here, Kimmie!! You have taught me much about second chances. I am proud to have an aunt like you!

  20. Of course.

And I am grateful for the amazingly wonderful family in the great State of Idaho!

(Did that make you feel better?)

  21. And the beauty of wonderful friends!! (Meaning you of course!!)

  22. Thank you, Serene!!

I wouldn't be writing if I didn't have chocolate. Somehow eating chocolate and writing well go hand in hand. : )

  23. I'm grateful for sleep

And that I no longer weep

    When my husband is gone

Because that went on too long.

  24. Why thank you, Suzicate!! I know that many would think my little family is quite poor (which we are) but I think about how we are richer than many in developing countries. Why should I complain when I have no right? Besides, I am surrounded by those who are most important to me.

  25. Yes, I am in a state of euphoria. I am truly blessed.

  26. Indeed we do. I need to do this more often.

  27. I am thankful for having the opportunities that I have had that my parents never did.
