7 Quick Takes: Moving Edition

1. With my kids gone, I've been amazingly inefficient.  Although I've washed the dishes, kept up with laundry, and blogged, I have yet to conquer the most significant task: packing.

2. Perhaps this has something to do with exhaustion.  My body is still needing quite a bit of rest.  And, to be honest, depression--from grieving--is making it really hard to get out of bed.  I do! But with a lot of effort.

3. The kids are missing us.  You can tell by the photos my sister and mother have sent me.

Is it wrong to want some type of validation that they need me?

4. To invigorate my body and my mind, I've started exercising again.  In case I forget the next day, the aches and pains from doing Pilates reminds me.

5. While sorting through one of our many junk piles, I came across the card Ben, Emily, and Andrew gave me for Mother's day.  I *might* have cried upon seeing the little scribbles.

6. Anyone need baby boy and girl clothes?  I have about 10 (huge) bags full.

7. I will admit to finding pleasure in sleeping in.  And taking unplanned naps.  And having time to blog, read, and eat without interruptions.

  1. I'm sure they're missing you. In their heart.

  2. They look so sad and lonely! LOL

That pic of your son looks like he is taking a self-portrait with his arms outstretched. :)

  3. Oh, their agony!

Time is funny without kids - it's smoother and easier to do everything and flies just as quickly. Not that I know a week without both. (Envy)

I've been mailing off my baby girl clothes here and there this last year. It's kind of relieving. But I really need to sort and purge. Moving used to be a great time for it. Last move, well. Not so much. Next time? (oh, I don't want to move again!)

  4. I don't think it's wrong at all to want proof that they're missing you - and I just know that if you asked them, they would let you know how much they do in their own sweet little ways.

Hope you get some real rest and recovery time in between the packing. xo

  5. Enjoy some time sleeping in and no interruptions. I have forgotten what that feels like.

  6. I have no idea how this happened but I lost a bunch of subscriptions and yours was one! Anyway, so glad to make that realization and put you back into my reader.

  8. It sounds like this is exactly what you needed. And I'm sure even though you wanted them to miss you...it was nice to see the kids so happy!!!

  9. Even though they don't show it in the pictures, they miss you with all their hearts! How could they not! They have the most amazing mommy in the whole world.

  10. My kids never miss me I think. They are (usually) excited to see me again, though. I've had extended breaks from the kids before and almost always opt for the less efficient route. I may kick myself when the break is over, but it feels so great at the time!
