A few days ago, I went to my good friend's house. She looked tired and explained that she had helped her husband with his homework late into the previous night. I gave her a knowing nod. Her husband asked me if I help Ben as well. I replied, "Yeah. Ben and I study Anatomy until 1 or 2 AM. It's rather exhausting."
He responded, "People might take that the wrong way you know."
It might have taken me a few minutes to figure out what he meant.

I love it! Playing doctor again, were you?
ReplyDeleteYeah, that totally took me reading through twice to get it... and now I think - awww, you poor girl, staying up so late.... :)
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty darn funny.
Wink, wink.
ReplyDeleteTotally got this. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThat was a "that's what she said" moment.
ReplyDeleteHey Amber,
ReplyDeleteYour Mom and I study anatomy quite often ourselves. For us though, it is rather exhilarating and not exhausting:)
Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteYour dad made me spit out my water!
Oh-hoho :) I was quietly giggling until I read your dad's comment, and then I started heartily chuckling :) Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what's funnier, the initial comment or your dad's response to it! Bwahahah!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, there was I immediately thinking just as your friend's husband did. I just read your Dad's comment - hilarious!!! I think we might need to see a guest post from such a comedian :-)
ReplyDeleteYikes! It's so funny when we stick our foot in our mouths like that, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Just the chuckle I needed tonight my friend.
ReplyDeleteHilarious! I actually thought you meant it *that* way in your first response! :-) And your dad's comment made me laugh, too! Very cute.
ReplyDeleteHa...my son used to go over to his very pretty friend's house to help her with anatomy and my husband used to reply that he bet he was!
ReplyDeleteI don't know...Despite what your friend's husband said, I don't think there is a wrong way to study anatomy ;-)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think my husband would like me to get off the computer now and go "study anatomy" with him right now (wink wink!)
ReplyDeleteFunny story, Amber!
I got a great chuckle out of this! (What I wouldn't give for a little anatomy study at night...)
ReplyDelete;)
I got it right away, and I laughed.
ReplyDeletehaha - next semester, tell him you are in the advanced course.....!!

Nothing like hands-on learning! =>
ReplyDeleteHahahah! That is funny! You're so cute, Amber.
ReplyDeleteIf only my similar brain fades were few and far between. But they're not.
ReplyDeleteThis is great, and your dad's response makes it even better!
ReplyDeleteRead this last week and didn't have time to comment. Came back, because here's my comment: What do you do if, while you are studying anatomy together, one of your children happens upon the lesson? More than once? For instance.
ReplyDeleteMy kids have locks on the outside of their doors. : )
ReplyDeleteReally, though, I have no idea. My kiddos aren't old enough to be in toddler beds yet, so I don't have to worry about them roaming our apartment. I suppose I'll have to figure something out someday.
Hahaha! That's so, so perfect.
