Times I Cherish

Ben has another girl in his life. I am not jealous of this girl because she makes us both very happy. When this girl is crying and I need to do something, he readily agrees to take her and can immediately get her calm and/or asleep. I love watching him interact with this other girl. She has made him into the most amazing father, and I am glad that I caught him before some other girl stole him away.
When I was a little girl I made a list of qualities I looked for in my future husband. The list went something like this:
1. Handsome
2. Spiritual
3. Educated
4. Willing to take care of his family financially while I stayed-at-home with the little ones.
5. Returned Missionary
It was a short list because I knew that when I met the man who was right for me the list would grow longe to accomodate this future man's amazing qualities. As such, the list grew include this:
6. Red haired
7. Perfect kissing height
8. Willing to be the Patriarch of our family (call the family together for prayers morning and night, scripture study at morning or night, and family home evening every Monday)
9. Brilliant
10. Gentleman, the kind who treats me like a Queen
11. Problem-Solver
12. Direct, no-nonsense
13. Willing to forgive and forget as well as repent and take accountability for his actions
14. A great father
I am lucky to have a man who has met all the above listed criteria. He has been a great help especially through my difficult pregnancy and baby blues. I love him dearly.
This is why I cherish the times when I look into the room and find Ben sleeping with the other girl, because that other girl is our precious daughter. Thank you Ben for completing my life and helping me become the best person I can be. I love you.
